Given Imaging Announces Senior Management Changes

11/25/2002 - Yoqneam, Israel -- Given Imaging, Ltd. (NASDAQ: GIVN) announced today that it has appointed Nancy L. S. Sousa, a seasoned medical imaging executive, as president of Given Imaging, Inc., its U.S. subsidiary based in Atlanta, Georgia, effective January 6, 2003. The company also announced that Mark Gilreath, the current president of Given Imaging, Inc., will be promoted to the newly created position of vice president - corporate strategy reporting to Gavriel Meron, president and chief executive officer Given Imaging Ltd.

"Under Mark’s leadership, Given Imaging has made remarkable strides in the United States since launching our M2A capsule endoscope just 14 months ago. His skills at forging strategic alliances and creating the optimum conditions for introducing our product have been pivotal to our success. In his new role, Mark can bring those skills to bear on a global basis for our company," said Gavriel Meron.

"We see enormous opportunity for further penetration of the U.S. market and Nancy’s experience in product management, operations, business development and her track record of execution in the imaging sector makes her the ideal candidate to realize the full potential of the M2A capsule endoscope in the United States," he continued.

Sousa joins Given Imaging after a 22-year career with the Eastman Kodak Company. Most recently, Sousa served as director, System Concepts Center, leading a 70-member, multifunctional, international team focused on identifying new business opportunities globally. From 1997 to 2000, Sousa held operational and business development management positions in the Health Imaging division of Eastman Kodak Company. Prior to that, Sousa served in numerous management roles within the Eastman Kodak Company’s Consumer Imaging division, including vice president of OEM products and director of Strategic Business Planning.
