Given Imaging's M2A to be Reimbursed by the Regence Group

11/18/2002 - ATLANTA, GA - Given Imaging, Inc. (NASDAQ: GIVN) announced today that The Regence Group has initiated reimbursement coverage of capsule endoscopy for the small intestine. Regence, through its Blue Cross and Blue Shield affiliates in Oregon, Washington, Utah and Idaho provide healthcare coverage to more than 3 million members. Regence will offer capsule endoscopy reimbursement to those among its beneficiaries who may suffer from disorders associated with gastrointestinal bleeding from sources unidentified by other diagnostic methods. This brings to 38 million the total number of patients in the United States who currently have reimbursable access to the M2A diagnostic system for these indications.
