60 Studies Presented Involving Nearly 1700 Patients Confirm That The M2A Capsule Endoscope Is Changing Clinical Practice
17 October 2002 - YOQNEAM, Israel -- Given Imaging (NASDAQ: GIVN) announced that with 40 clinical presentations, 21 lectures and an off-site symposium on capsule endoscopy, it will have a strong presence at the 10th Annual United European Gastroenterology Week (UEGW) in Geneva, Switzerland, the American College of Gastroenterologists (ACG) Annual Meeting in Seattle, Washington, and the Australian Gastro Week (AGW) this month. Data on nearly 1700 patients will be presented showing superiority of capsule endoscopy over conventional diagnostic methods in diagnosing diseases of the small bowel including cancer, Crohn’s disease, gastro-intestinal bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease and celiac.
"The growing number of peer reviewed publications and clinical presentations at leadership forums such as the ACG, UEGW & AGW evidence how our M2A capsule endoscope is changing clinical practice in gastroenterology and is the accepted diagnostic standard of care for the small intestine," said Gavriel Meron, president and chief executive officer of Given Imaging. "Most importantly, the M2A is changing the way physicians manage their patients’ treatment and allowing them to improve patients’ lives through earlier and better diagnosis."ACG: OCTOBER 20th - 22th
